Room 5
Miss Donna, Miss Denise and Miss Betty

Fall is such a beautiful time of year. That is why the children in Room 5 decided to go on a nature walk. Before they went on their adventure, the class made binoculars to wear for their walk. Each child decorated a sheet of paper that was then placed around a double roll of toilet paper. String was placed on the edge to be worn around their necks. We then all took a walk around Merrick Woods to observe all the different signs of the season. We saw squirrels scurrying around to find food to store for winter, along with birds flying in large groups to fly south for migration. We also observed the trees changing colors. Children collected leaves of many colors and shapes to place on our science table. The following day, each child had the opportunity to place three leaves of their choice under a sheet of paper to have fun with leaf rubbing. They are now all on display in Room 5.
