Room 12
Miss Krista, Miss Susan, Miss Betty

Miss Krista's class in Room 12 had to solve a Fall riddle: Where can you find a little red house with no doors, no windows, and a "star" living inside? The children gave many creative answers. Then they were asked to think of Johnny Appleseed and what he did. The children remembered that he planted apple trees. The children were asked if an apple could be the little red house? They all laughed. "We cannot live in an apple," they replied. This is a special house that has no doors or windows. An apple does not have doors or windows, but, ...does a star live inside? The children were not sure. So, Miss Krista cut the apple in half and sure enough, we saw a star! The riddle was solved. You can find a little red house with no doors, no windows and a star living inside by looking inside an apple. We dipped the cut apple in white paint and made it's impression on apple shapes we had cut out of construction paper. We let them dry, then hung the apples on our classroom tree.
