Miss Sari and Miss Jessica
In honor of National Children’s Book Week, the Kindergarten
students in Room 10 wrote their own original book, based on the book If
You Give A Mouse A Cookie, by Laura Numeroff. The class book is called
If You Give A Mouse A Pizza.
Each child wrote a page about what would happen next to the friendly mouse
who was given a piece of pizza. The next step was for the authors to illustrate
their own page. All of the children did a fantastic job, resulting in
a wonderful and engaging big book story!
When the book was all finished, the children got to visit each of the
younger classes. They read their story to the younger children, with each
child reading their own page. They asked the children questions and responded
to others. The Kindergarten class and the other classes at Merrick Woods
had a blast during Children’s Book Week!
