Miss Donna, Miss Denise
The holiday season is upon us, and with all the gift making and holiday singing, we introduced our Science Unit on “Music and Sound”. The class first enjoyed playing a guessing game, where they had to identify a hidden instrument by the sound that it made. After all the instruments were identified, each child picked an instrument to march with. We played holiday music while the class marched around the room. When the music stopped, each child had to switch with a friend to enjoy a new instrument. We then followed up by watching “Peter and the Wolf”. This special rendition of the story was done with no dialog. Each character was represented by a different instrument.
