Shhh... The Bears are Hibernating
in Room 11
In Room 11, we talked about why bears hibernate. We mentioned that it is too cold for the bears to find food during the winter so they eat all they can before it gets too cold and then go into their den for a long winter nap. Each child made a brown bear or black bear to hibernate.
The children made their bears by gluing the pieces together (all by themselves). The following school day the children came to school in their pajamas all ready to put the bears into their den to hibernate. I built a large cave that the bears were put in. Each child said “Goodnight bear, I’ll see you in the spring” and then put the bear into its den. In addition to the bears teaching the children about hibernation, they were also used for our letter “Bb”.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
Sincerely,
Miss Janet, Miss Stephanie
and all the children from Room 11!
