Miss Debbie, Miss Kim
Thirsty Vegetables & Flowers
In room 3 P.M. we examined how vegetables and flowers get water. We placed
the celery and white carnations in blue water. We used food coloring to
turn the water blue. The children then watched every day until the leaves
turned blue. As we observed the flowers and vegetables, I explained that
they get their water through their stems. Similar to how we drink out of
a straw. The children were amazed at how the leaves changed colors.
