Apple printing is always an enjoyable project for the children this time of year. We began by reading the story “Nature’s Secret”. This story tells of a young boy who is bored with his toys and asks his mother for something new to do. She sends him off looking for a red house with a star in the middle. After asking several family members for help, he is told to ask the wind. The wind blows, shakes a red apple off of a tree and lands in his lap. The boy cuts the apple in half and therefore finds the star in the middle.
As a follow up activity, the children used the apples with the stars for apple printing. They were mounted on green, red and yellow paper. They will be on display for Open School Night.
