In our Kindergarten Enrichment class, we performed two science experiments that proved that plants need sunlight and water to grow. First, we took two identical plants. One we put on our windowsill so it could get plenty of sunlight, and we watered it daily. We placed the other plant in our dark closet. Result: The plant that got plenty of sunshine and water is still doing quite well. The other plant that was kept in the closet without any sun or water is not doing as well.
To further enhance our knowledge about plants, each child was responsible for caring for their own “Hairy Harry” plant. They filled a cup with potting soil, added some grass seed, watered it, pasted Harry’s face on the cup, then placed it on the windowsill to get plenty of sunlight. In about 2 weeks, Harry had “HAIR”!!!!!! Great job everyone and HAPPY SPRING to all!!!!!
