Miss Donna, Miss Denise and Miss Betty
Hibernation is not only something we learn about through
books and photographs, but it's also fun to experience first hand by pretending
and role-playing. The children in Room 5 wore their pajamas and brought
in Teddy Bears to school to help them enjoy the total experience of hibernation.
It began with the children singing songs and dancing with their Teddy
Bears to get them sleepy. Then they all filled their bellies with a special
snack of Teddy Grahams, Cool Whip and Graham Crackers. For the favorite
part of the learning experience, the children went into the caves (tables
and blankets), and pretended to sleep until signs of spring arrived. If
you come and visit Room 5, you will also see a beautiful display of bears
hibernating as they wait for springtime. In March they will all open their
eyes and be happy that spring has sprung, and so will we!
SEE YOU IN SPRING!!!!
